What are and why do I need Essential Fatty Acids (EFAs)?

There are 50 or so essential nutrients that are needed in the human diet to maintain health. These include vitamins, minerals, amino acids and essential fatty acids (EFAs). The EFAs are identified as omega-3 EFA (or alpha-linolenic acid) and omega-6 EFA (linoleic acid). A deficiency in either progressively results in poor health. Like other essential nutrients, the human body cannot function without these EFAs in the diet. EFAs function as building blocks for membranes of every cell in the body. They also produce "prostaglandin families," which are hormone-like substances necessary for energy metabolism and cardiovascular and immune health. Brain and nerve tissue consist of over 50% EFAs! See the Benefits of Omega-3 and 6 for more information.

What is the suggested daily usage of EFAs?

The daily usage of EFAs for most adult males and females is 1-2 tsp of Flax Oil or Essential Balance®.
Usage for The New Family Formula Essential Balance Jr™ is:

  • 6 months - 2 yrs. – 1/4 tsp. every other day
  • 2 yrs. - 5 yrs. – 1/2 tsp. daily
  • 5 yrs. - 12 yrs 1 tsp. daily
  • 13 yrs and up – 2-3 tsp. daily
  • Pregnant and nursing mothers – 1-3 tsp. daily

What are the benefits of Omega-3 and 6 EFAs?

Omega-3 EFAs are beneficial for:

• Allergies
• Cardiovascular Health
• Nerve Problems
• Cholesterol Control
• Circulatory Health
• Weight Management
• Eczema
• Vision
• Immune Deficiencies
• Osteo-Arthritis
• Rheumatoid Arthritis
• Viral Illness
• Reduce Risk of Skin Cancer
• Learning Difficulties

Omega-6 EFAs are beneficial for:

• Acne
• Cardiovascular Health
• Allergies
• Dehydration
• Dry Skin
• Fatigue
• Food Sensitivity • Immune Deficiencies
• Liver Health
• Mood Swings
• Osteoarthritis
• PMS
• Weight Management

Can you take too much EFA?

Yes - you can take too much of anything. Fat intake should make up no more than 30% of one's total calorie intake. The recommended intake for polyunsaturated fats, Omega-3 and Omega-6, is 5%-10% of one's total calories. Fats are a more concentrated energy source per gram than carbohydrates or protein; fats provide 9 calories per gram, while carbohydrates and protein provide 4 calories per gram.

Taking too much flaxseed oil can overload the liver with fats. The liver is responsible for breaking down and restructuring nutrients and excess fats can hinder the liver's filtering process. Normally, if you follow the recommended intake of no more than 30% of daily calories from fat you are within safe and healthy dosages.

Certain health conditions require adjusted levels of fat intake, you should check with your health professional when deciding the level of fat intake that works best for your personal health program.

Is flax a safe source of Omega 3 fats for humans?

Flaxseed and flaxseed oil are currently recognized as appropriate sources of omega-3 fatty acids by several US government agencies, including USDA and NIH. These agencies have held conferences and workshops on the importance of omega-3 fat , which have included recommendations for consuming flaxseed.

There are, however, present-day challengers on the Internet to the use of flax as food. The Now Age Press website is a typical example. Critics take issue with any statement made in recent years that refers to flaxseed as having a history as a “staple” food in any culture. These critics will admit only to the use of flaxseed as food in times of famine. In addition to their challenge to the notion of the use of flaxseed or flaxseed oil as food in antiquity, as well as to aspects of safety related to the presence of lignans and various anti-nutrients such as cyanogenic glycosides in flaxseed, the writers for these websites make substantive mistakes about composition, stating, for example, that hemp oil has levels of omega-3 fatty acids as high as flax oil. Actually, flax oil contains about 60 percent of total fatty acids as omega-3 fatty acids, compared to about 20 percent for hemp oil.

When we search out historical documents written a century ago, however, we are presented with another view. The 1911 edition of the Encyclopaedia Britannica reported that “Linseed [flaxseed] formed an article of food among the Greeks and Romans, and it is said that the Abyssinians at the present day eat it roasted. The oil is to some extent used as food in Russia and in parts of Poland and Hungary.”

The article also describes concern voiced over “. . . direct adulterations. . . [by]. . . admixture of cheaper and inferior oil-seeds. . . .” In 1864, a union of traders of linseed oil was formed in England to prevent this adulteration by monitoring all imported oil.

The more recent Cambridge World History of Food records the use of flaxseed oil for cooking in Russia in the 19th Century and the use of seeds for making tea.

A recent text on flaxseed, edited by researchers at the University of Toronto, contains discussions of historical uses as a food, both directly and indirectly. In the introduction, we learn that the edible flaxseed was the one predominantly grown in India, that flaxseed is consumed in the diet as oil in China, that it is consumed in Ethiopia in a stew (wat), as a porridge (gufmo), and as a drink (chilka), and has been part of the traditional foods in Egypt since the time of the Pharaohs.

In the US, the earliest record in Food and Drug Administration (FDA) writings raises the question of GRAS status for flaxseed use in foods. This appears in correspondence to the FDA in 1948 when the food industry initiated an inquiry about the use of flax in cereal foods. The FDA originally declined the GRAS status request because the use of flax, as (or in) food prior to 1958, was in other countries and not in the US. In addition, the FDA indicated concern about untreated flaxseed being a source of toxic hydrocyanic acid and posted an import alert in 1978; this decision was abandoned in 1982 when the import alert was canceled and flaxseed was permitted in bread in levels of 10-12 percent. The agency stated that there was no concern that there would be “. . . any more exposure to hydrogen cyanide than from other foods such as lima beans, fava beans, chickpeas, cassava, yams, cashews or almonds. . . ”

Researchers from two universities evaluated flaxseed powder consumption in women and reported that the lignans, which they considered as protective against certain cancers, were normally metabolized by the microflora in the gut. These researchers reported that the possible cyanide exposure from 60 grams of raw flaxseed in healthy individuals is not hazardous; further they indicated that raw flaxseed is traditionally consumed in 10-gram amounts (approximately 1 tablespoon).

So how much flaxseed, or flaxseed oil is appropriate and unquestionably safe? The recommendation from the US government agencies is usually 2 tablespoons of flaxseed per day to supply omega-3 fatty acids for a 2000 kcal diet. (The flaxseed needs to be ground in order for the proper digestion of the seeds to take place.) Two tablespoons of flaxseed is about 20 grams of seed and since there is about 40 percent oil in the seeds and about 50-60 percent omega-3 in the oil, 20 grams of seed could provide about 8 grams of flaxseed oil and about 4 grams alpha-linolenic acid, the basic omega-3 fatty acid. Four grams of omega-3 fatty acids is about 36 calories, which is slightly more than the usual recommendation of 1.5 percent of calories for a 2000 calorie intake. The amount of flaxseed oil needed to provide this much omega-3 is about 1.5 to 2 tsp per day.8 If you are getting omega-3 fatty acids from other sources in your diet, then the recommended amount of flaxseed oil would be less. (To be continued.)

How should Omega Nutrition unrefined oils be stored?

Most Omega Nutrition Oils should be refrigerated, but to ensure proper storage of your oil simply look to the Omega Nutrition label for storage directions. You may freeze to extend its shelf life. Many people keep their Flax Oil in the freezer at all times, however, once the bottle is open the oil will start to oxidize. Heat, light and oxygen naturally degrade oil. Oils high in monounsaturated fats and saturated fats are more heat stable than delicate polyunsaturated fats.

Do you keep your oils refrigerated while shipping, especially in summer?

Due to the short transit times and our protective bottling process we have found that the quality of our flax oil remains stable in transit without refrigeration.

Does heat affect oil?

Heat, light and oxygen naturally degrade oil. Oils high in monounsaturated fats and saturated fats are more heat stable than delicate polyunsaturated fats. See the question on what oils are best for cooking and baking below for an oil usage temperature range.

Why should I use Apple Cider Vinegar?

Traditionally, Apple Cider Vinegar has successfully treated a wide variety of human or animal ailments. As an acid, it has antiseptic qualities that internally cleanses the digestive tracts and externally, disinfects any skin wounds or abrasions. Its acidity reportedly aids in the removal of calcium deposits from joints and blood vessels (just as vinegar dissolves mineral deposits in kettles). However, it has no effect on normal calcium levels in the bones and teeth.

The pectin in unfiltered Apple Cider Vinegar promotes elimination and healthy bowels; the phosphorus prevents the formation of putrefactive bacteria; and the potassium regulates growth, hydrates cells, balances sodium and enables the proper performance of the nervous system.

Omega Nutrition’s Apple Cider Vinegar is just as important a part of the diet as it was 100 years ago.

How can I take Apple Cider Vinegar?

Its crisp zesty flavor lends itself well to culinary usage. As well, there are many interesting folk remedies for Apple Cider Vinegar. It can be swallowed, gargled, inhaled or applied topically to help heal.

Why is Omega Nutrition's Apple Cider Vinegar better than other brands?

Our Apple Cider Vinegar is carefully prepared to retain the healthful properties of certified organic apples. Certified apples contain fructose and complex carbohydrates. They are also a good source of Vitamin C and other trace minerals. Omega Nutrition’s Apple Cider Vinegar is prepared and packaged in certified organic facilities, and made the old fashioned way in a two-stage process. The juice of the organic apples is naturally fermented, and the subtle characteristics of the apples are unaltered by cooking, filtering or other processing. The juice is extracted without the use of heat, or adding any clarifiers, enzymes or preservatives. Our Apple Cider Vinegar is not pasteurized, filtered or diluted with water to guarantee a full-strength nutritionally valuable vinegar (5% acidity) that retains all natural plant sediments along with pectin, trace minerals, beneficial bacteria and enzymes. Omega’s Apple Cider Vinegar is kosher certified and is stored and bottled in black HDPE containers to protect it from the damaging effects of light.

Do I need to refrigerate my Apple Cider Vinegar?

No, you may notice that other vinegars sold in clear glass bottles have brown oxidized color. Omega’s Apple Cider Vinegar is shelf stable for 5 years and protected from photo-oxidation by Omega Nutrition's opaque bottle. Because of our exclusive omegaflo® process, our Apple Cider Vinegar retains its original amber color. This process protects our Apple Cider Vinegar from light, which causes free radical activity and the breakdown of vital nutrients.

What is the “Mother”?

Omega Nutrition’s Apple Cider Vinegar contains “mother” and other naturally occurring sediments that add to the nutritional value of the vinegar. “Mother” is the name for the natural protein strands formed by beneficial bacteria in unpasteurized vinegar. It’s not spoiled or harmful- the “mother” is simply a characteristic of raw unpasteurized vinegar.

Why should I take Cold-Milled Flax?

Omega Nutrition's Cold-Milled Flax is rich in all Essential Fatty Acids (EFAs) and high in dietary fiber. Cold-Milled Flax helps improve bowel movements, balance blood sugar and cholesterol levels while strengthening the immune system. This product promotes healthy hair and skin and is an excellent source of lignans. Omega Nutrition's Cold-Milled Flax is Certified Organic and gluten-free. The seeds are farm direct and full of the flavor of fresh milled flax that is locked in through a re-sealable vacuum packed bag.

How can I use Cold-Milled Flax?

Cold-Milled Flax Seeds are great in baking, blender drinks, as a facial mask or scrub, or just to sprinkle every morning on hot or cold cereal.

Can I freeze Cold-Milled Flax?

Yes, freezing your Cold-Milled Flax will actually aid in protecting the precious essential fatty acids.

What is the difference between Omega Nutrition Coconut Oil and other brands?

Coconut Oil from Omega Nutrition is certified organic and kosher. This naturally saturated product is not hydrogenated and is free of trans fatty acids. Ideal for use in higher temperature cooking, Coconut Oil is a perfect vegan/dairy-free alternative to butter or margarine. As with all of Omega Nutrition's oils, Coconut Oil is stored and packaged in opaque HDPE containers to protect it from the damaging effects of light.

What is the health advantage in using Coconut Oil?

Coconut Oil is easily digestible and is slightly lower in calories than other oils. Used for fuel and energy, Coconut Oil is an obvious favorite of athletes, dieters, and body builders. Coconut Oil is heat stable naturally saturated oil that is primarily made up of medium chain triglycerides (65% MCTs) MCTs are energy fats that our bodies can metabolize efficiently and digest more easily. Coconut Oil is also one of the significant plant sources of lauric acid, an anti-microbial fatty acid that support immune function.

What is the best way to use Coconut Oil?

Yes – Coconut Oil is excellent for cooking, frying, and baking. Try it as a butter replacement and spread over toast. Coconut Oil is a high heat oil that can be safely raised to temperatures up to 375°F/190°C without any trans fatty acid distortion. The standard recommendation for substituting Coconut Oil for butter, lard or shortening is to use three-quarters of the amount of Coconut Oil.

My Coconut Oil melts In hot weather. How do I get it solid again?

Coconut Oil melts and solidifies quickly. Due to its saturated fat content, it is our most heat stable product and is naturally solid at temperatures below 76°F/24°C. In the summer, Coconut Oil may arrive in liquid form. To solidify the oil quickly, simply stick the jar in the refrigerator. Keep in mind that Coconut Oil does not require refrigeration and should be stored in a cool dark place. If you leave it in the refrigerator, you may find it is too hard to get out of the container.

What is the easiest way to get the remaining Coconut Oil out of the bottom of the 32 oz container?

Just run the bottom of the container under warm water. This will slightly melt the Coconut Oil, allowing you to scoop or easily pour it out.

Can I use Coconut Oil in recipes that call for butter?

Coconut Oil can be used in most recipes where you would normally use butter. When substituting Coconut Oil for butter, we recommend you use three-quarters of the amount specified in the recipe.

How is Omega Nutrition’s Coconut Oil made?

Omega Nutrition’s Coconut Oil is cultivated and processed using the strictest organic standards and practices. The meat from the ripe coconuts is separated from the outer shell and dried. This dried coconut meat is called “copra” and it is the part of the coconut that contains the oil. The coconut copra is then expeller pressed and the resulting oils then goes through an additional step to remove the coconut flavor.

What is involved in the process to remove the flavor?

The coconut flavor for Omega Nutrition Coconut Oil has been removed to create versatile cooking oil perfect for all baking and cooking needs. Some other coconut oils have very strong flavor and odor. Depending on how you plan to use the Coconut Oil, a full flavor product may not be appropriate. Many customers have told us they want the nutritional benefits of coconut oil but without the predominant coconut flavor. The flavor is removed by distilling the oil with a vacuum process. The heat involved in this process does not create trans fatty acids, and the beneficial fatty acids are not affected. In their natural tropical environments, coconuts and the oil inside are commonly exposed to high tropical temperatures. One of the chief benefits of Coconut Oil is that it is one of nature’s most heat stable oils. It is naturally saturated and is not easily damaged by heat, which is why Coconut Oil is a good choice for higher temperature cooking (375º F/191ºC).

Why choose Omega Nutrition Coconut Oil?

Omega Nutrition’s Coconut Oil is the perfect vegan and dairy free alternative to butter or margarine, and is offered by Omega Nutrition for its versatile culinary usage, along with the anti-viral benefits of lauric acid. Omega Nutrition Coconut Oil is kosher certified, and is certified organic by an independent third party (Washington State Department of Agriculture).

What do the Essential Balance® family of products provide you with?

Essential Balance® products provide an equal 1:1 balance of Omega-3 and Omega-6 EFAs with a blend of cold-pressed Flax, Pumpkin, Sunflower Oil (Hi-Oleic Variety) and now with the added benefit of lignans. Essential Balance Jr™ contains the same blend as our original Essential Balance® formula in a 2:1 balance of Omega-3 and Omega-6 EFAs with the addition of a proprietary blend of herbs and spices creating a natural butterscotch flavoring.

What is the optimum ratio of Omega-6 to Omega-3 oils?

The human brain has a 1:1 ratio of Omega-6 to Omega-3 EFAs. Most people are deficient in Omega-3 since the average North American diet is much higher in Omega-6. The 1:1 ratio of Essential Balance® helps to raise Omega-3 levels while you continue to receive Omega-6 from outside food sources, which maintains a healthy balance. The optimal ratio of 1:1 Omega-6 to Omega-3 has shifted dangerously high to approximately a 20:1 ratio.

Why is your Essential Balance® Oil a 1:1 ratio?

The human brain has a 1:1 ratio of Omega-6 to Omega-3 EFAs. Most people are deficient in Omega-3 since the average North American diet is much higher in Omega-6. The 1:1 ratio of Essential Balance® helps to raise Omega-3 levels while you continue to receive Omega-6 from outside food sources, which maintains a healthy balance. The optimal ratio of 1:1 Omega-6 to Omega-3 has shifted dangerously high to approximately a 20:1 ratio.

What are the recommended ways to take Essential Balance Jr™?

Essential Balance Jr™ is a delicious addition to yogurt, applesauce, blender drinks, ice cream, cereal or sweet-tasting vegetables such as yams. Essential Balance Jr™ was created with kids in mind; however, we have found over the years that the whole family enjoys the buttery flavor of Essential Balance Jr™.

What are the quantities of EFAs and nutrients in Omega Flax Seed Oil?

The fatty acid profile for our Flax Seed Oil is:

  • 54% Omega-3
  • 15% Omega-6
  • 21% Omega-9

Why should I get my EFAs from Flax Seed Oil and not Fish Oil?

Although fish oil also contains EFAs, it actually has much less omega-3 EFA than flax seed oil. Also, fish oil is high in cholesterol (a sterol found exclusively in animals) and may contain detectable heavy metals and contaminants. Flax seed oil is suitable for vegetarian diets, contains no cholesterol and has a pleasant, nutty taste.

Why do I need to take Flax Oil Daily?

It is necessary to take flax seed oil daily because Omega Nutrition's cold-pressed flax seed oil delivers Omega-3 and Omega-6, which the human body cannot synthesize. We use about 20 fatty acids to maintain normal function. Our bodies can synthesize all but two, Omega-3 and Omega-6. They must be obtained in proper balance through foods or supplements, which the modern diet does not typically provide. A deficiency in either leads to poor health.

Omega Nutrition's unrefined, organic flax seed oil is an excellent source of Omega-3 and Omega-6 EFAs. Each tablespoon serving of Omega Nutrition flax seed oil provides 72 IU of Vitamin A and 2.8 IU of Vitamin E (which is a beneficial addition to one's daily intake of antioxidants).

Are there any side effects to taking Flax Seed Oil?

Usually only good ones! The initial effects may include softer skin, healthier hair and increased energy levels. As with anything, problems can occur when something is taken in excess. (See how to incorporate Essential Oils into your diet below). Taking too much flaxseed oil can overload the liver with fats. The liver is responsible for breaking down and restructuring nutrients and excess fats can hinder the liver's filtering process. The recommended intake is no more than 30% of daily calories from fat.

Is Flax Seed Oil the same as paint thinner? Is it harmful?

NO - Omega Nutrition's flax-based products are not harmful. Only when submitted to heat, oxygen and an aging process of at least one-year will flax oil convert to linseed oil, which is used to condition wood. Any food ingested after it's freshness life or after exposure to elements resulting in a chemical alteration of the food substance can be dangerous!

The Omega-3 and Omega-6 in flax oils are delicate and sensitive to heat and oxygen exposure. We cold-press at temperatures under 99°F/37°C. The valuable nutrients found in flax seeds are preserved by our processing method (the omegaflo® process), which excludes heat, light, oxygen and reactive metals. We also print the pressing date and the expiration date on all labels to ensure you receive only the freshest product.

Is Flax Seed Oil a good source of estrogen?

Flax seeds are high in a fiber called lignans, which have been shown to have estrogen-balancing effects. When plant lignans are digested they convert into a form of lignan used by humans. Lignans are structurally similar to estrogens and can work as estrogen or anti-estrogen within the body. If you have low levels of estrogen in your body, lignans will act as estrogens. Whereas, if you have high levels of estrogen, lignans will bind to estrogen receptors and block the powerful effects of estrogen. Omega Nutrition offers four flax-based products that are high in lignans:

  • Hi-Lignan® Flax Oil
  • Cold-Milled Flax Seeds
  • Nutri-Flax®
  • Whole flax seeds

So many body systems benefit from flax and have been shown to have a positive effect on:

  • Your heart, skin, brain development and ADD and ADHD, and the immune system and allergic response, due to the roles that essential fatty acids, Omega-3 and Omega-6, play in the body.
  • Discouraging tumor growth.

Does Flax Seed Oil have an effect on cholesterol levels?

Yes. Omega-3 EFAs tend to balance cholesterol levels in the blood and are known to lower LDL (bad) cholesterol levels while effectively raising HDL (good) cholesterol levels. Cholesterol plays an important function within the body as the starting point for the production of bile, sex hormones and vitamin D, as well as serving as part of the structural support of cell membranes. By providing the raw material needed for the body to create HDL cholesterol you are taking an active role in improving your health and reducing the risk of heart attacks and strokes that can result from high LDL cholesterol levels.

Can I use Flax Seed Oil in salad dressings?

Yes, you can use flax seed oil in salad dressings. In an effort to fulfill a variety of nutritional - not to mention taste - preferences, Omega Nutrition has created a variety of oils rich in essential fatty acids and flavor. Try some of our flavor alternatives when making salad dressings, like our Hi-Lignan® Flax Oil and Garlic-Chili Flax Oil.

When should I take my Flax Seed Oil?

You can take your flax seed oil anytime and anywhere, but making it part of your normal routine is best, 1 Tbsp. daily, in a meal or snack.

I take my Flax Seed Oil in hot water, is this OK?

The EFAs in Flax Oil are very sensitive to heat and should never be subjected to temperatures above 120°F/49°C. If your water reaches temperatures above this point, you run the risk of compromising the quality of this EFA-rich oil. Instead add it to your salad dressings, drizzle it over cooked pasta, and more.

Should Flax Seed Oil and Essential Balance® be bitter to the taste?

Fresh oils should not be bitter to the taste. The polyunsaturated fats in Flax Seed Oil and Essential Balance® tend to oxidize more rapidly than monounsaturated and saturated fats, which can result in a slightly bitter taste. We process our oils at low temperatures to preserve the freshness of these oils and maintain the natural antioxidant Vitamins A and E found within the seeds. To ensure that you are purchasing the freshest oil possible, look for the pressing date on Flax Seed Oil bottles and the best before date, also make sure when purchasing from the health food store that the oil is always stored in a cooler.

Does Flax Seed Oil have a strong taste?

The taste is slightly nutty but not strong - (although taste is a matter of individual preference) - most of our customers love the taste of flaxseed oil. The taste of flax oil can vary slightly depending on the variety of seed. We guarantee with every flax oil product that you are receiving the highest quality, organic, unrefined, nutritional oil available.

Can I cook with Flax Seed Oil?

No, Flax Seed Oil has a high essential fatty acid profile and is a cold preparation oil that should be raised to a temperature of no more than 120°F/49°C due to the delicate polyunsaturated fats found in this oil. You can add it to your food after cooking, as well as, include it in cold preparation dressings.

What is the yield of cold-pressed Flax Seed Oil from flax seeds?

The cold-pressed omegaflo® process yields 37% oil from the flax seed, which is equivalent to 3.7 pounds of Flax Seed Oil yielded from every ten pounds of flax seeds.

What is the nutritional breakdown of one tablespoon of ground Flax Seeds?

One tablespoon of Omega Nutrition's ground flax seeds provides:

  • 3 grams of fat
  • 2 grams of fiber
  • 2 grams of protein

What color flax seeds does Omega use and what is the difference?

Omega Nutrition uses both brown and golden organic flax seeds. The color of seed varies depending on climate conditions and variety of seeds. The fatty acid profile of flax seed crops can vary by 1-2 percentage points depending on weather conditions, breed of seed and soil conditions. We test each crop of flax seed to ensure an average of 54% Omega-3 and 15% Omega-6 essential fatty acid in each bottle of flax oil that we produce.

Why should I take a supplemental enzyme like Kamizym-D™?

Enzymes aid in the digestion and breakdown of nutrients in the food. They are special proteins that catalyze or accelerate chemical reactions. Though enzymes are naturally present in all raw and fresh foods, they are easily destroyed when subjected to cooking temperatures higher that 140°F (48°C), which can hinder the digestion process. If you have painful gas, bloating, bad breath, lack of energy and concentration then try Omega Nutrition's Kamizym-D™.

What is Kefir?

Kefir is a cultured food that is rich in beneficial bacteria, minerals, B vitamin and amino acids. It is easily made at home and has a consistency slightly thinner than yogurt, making it an ideal breakfast drink.

How do I make Kefir?

To make kefir you will need:

  • 1 quart glass jar
  • 1 quart of organic milk (cow, goat or soy milk)
  • 5 grams of starter culture (1 individual package)
  • Heat one liter or quart of milk to 180°F or bring to a simmer. Cool to 73-77°F.
  • Dissolve 5 grams of culture in a small amount of the cooled milk in a cup. Pour back into the quart and mix well.
  • Pour the inoculated milk into a clean container, cover and let stand at room temperature until curd forms (approximately 24 hours).
  • Refrigerate about 8 hours to stop the process.
  • Stir to liquefy and enjoy. Always store Kefir in the refrigerator.

What are the benefits of using Nutri-Flax®?
